Dwarf Sungold Sunflower (Helianthus annuus ‘Dwarf Sungold’) is a dwarf sunflower that produces blooms with a soft texture that are similar to the taller Teddy Bear Sunflower variety. Flowering stems produce multiple fluffy, double golden-yellow blooms. Plants grow to a height of about 30 – 90 cm and can be grown in containers as well as beds and borders. Attracts bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects to the garden.

Growing Dwarf Sungold Sunflower
Indoor Sowing: Not Recommended.
Direct Sowing: Late Spring and Early Summer.
- Sunflowers need full sun; they need on average 6-8 hours of direct sunlight per day.
- They grow best at temperatures between 18–33ºC.
- Plant in full sun and light, well-drained soil of low to moderate fertility.
- Direct seed (recommended) as the sunflower plants dislikes root disturbance.
- Sow Dwarf Sunflower Seeds after last frost in groups of 3-4 seeds in garden beds.
- Thin to one plant when true leaves appear.
- If growing in containers then plant 1 seed per container.
- Plant in full sun and light, well-drained soil of low to moderate fertility.
- Warmer temperatures cause stretching; cooler temperatures cause plants to be more dwarf.
