The skin of the fruit turns light creamy-yellow with purple stripes when fully ripen. It belongs to the genus Solanum and is also known as pepino dulce, melon pears and tree melons
Planting the Pepino Melon Cuttings
- The cuttings can be rooted in water or in soil.
- To root the cuttings in water, simply place the cuttings in container with water and place the container in a warm, sunny area. Replace the water every second day, so that it remains clean.
- To root the cuttings in soil, fill a container with a well draining soil mix.
- Insert the cuttings into the soil.
- Keep the soil consistently moist, but not overly wet.
- Place the container in a warm, bright area where the temperature is about 20°C
- Once the cuttings take root, you will see new growth forming.
