Scarlet Kale has frilly, tightly curled leaves. Cold hardy, these sturdy plants become more vibrantly colored as the temperatures drop. Leaves darken to deep scarlet in late season. Begin harvesting leaves when young, and allow the plant to grow well into the early winter.
It is a multiple harvest crop that will keep producing throughout the entire year. It is a cold-tolerant crop, but is also resistant to bolting during warmer months.
