White Arum Lily (Zantedeschia aethiopica), also known as calla lily, is a species of flowering plant in the family Araceae, native to southern Africa in Lesotho, South Africa, and Eswatini. It is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant, evergreen where rainfall and temperatures are adequate, deciduous where there is a dry season. Its preferred habitat is in streams and ponds or on the banks. It grows to 0.6–1 m tall, with large clumps of broad, arrow shaped dark green leaves up to 45 cm long.

Indoor Sowing: Spring.
Direct Sowing: Spring.
- The seeds should be planted in Spring.
- First soak the seeds in warm water for 24 hours.
- Then sow the seeds close to the surface in a seedling mix and cover lightly.
- Water the seedling mix.
- Optimal temperature for germination is 20C.
- Germination in about 3 weeks.
- It is fast growing and likes very rich, well-drained conditions.
- Grow the plant in partial shade if you are not growing the plant near a pond.
