Holy Basil (Ocimum sanctum) also known as Kapoor Tulsi, is a herb that is widely used in Indian and Thai cooking and in Ayurvedic medicine. It is native to India and Southeast Asia. The plant grows to a height of about 30-60 cm. The green leaves are small and strongly scented. It has a fragrance reminiscent of fruit and cloves. The flowers are pinkish purple.

- Sow indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost in spring
