Growing Dwarf Lemon Drop Marigold
Indoor Sowing: Not Recommended.
Direct Sowing: Spring.
- Planting Marigold Seeds can be done by direct seeding in Spring. Direct sowing in the garden is the best method for planting the seeds.
- If you are planting marigold seeds indoors, they need a warm area. Seeds need a temperature of 21-23 C. to germinate.
- The best soil to use is normal garden soil, but you can also mix potting soil with some garden soil, if you are planting the seeds in a container.
- Scatter the seeds on the soil surface and cover with a very thin layer of soil. If you are planting the seeds in a container, then first tamp down the soil before planting, so that the seeds don’t end up falling down to the bottom of the container
- Water well. Keep the soil only very slightly moist, not wet, until germination occurs.
- Germination can take a few months, depending on when you planted the seeds, as the seeds normally only start germinating in Summer.
- The plant attracts butterflies and Hummingbirds
